Wage: $30.00-$40.00 per hour based on experience and 3 month probationary period
Location: Alberta (rural/remote projects). The current job site is located outside of Leduc, Alberta. Our company is based in Calgary.
Work Schedule: Schedule varies by project. Currently Monday to Friday (with weekend work available). Out-of-town projects follow a 21 days on / 7 days off rotation.
Hours: 8-12 hour work days with overtime work available.
Responsibilities:
• Operate the Locator for precise utility locating
• Collaborate with the Driller to plan the bore path, identifying potential issues
• Maintain clear communication with the Driller throughout the drill shot, ensuring safe and efficient completion of work
• Install underground conduit prioritizing public safety and protecting underground facilities
• Performing thorough pre and post-trip inspections
• Adhere to company policies and procedures
• Accurately interpret utility locates, coordinate permits, and ensure locates are in hand
• Read and comprehend blueprints and work orders
• Complete all necessary daily paperwork
• Undertake duties beyond those listed, as required.
Qualifications:
• Mandatory: Min. Class 5 driver’s license and 3+ year’s experience in Locating and HDD Drilling
• Ability to travel out of town during the week or on weekends
• Experience with Vermeer Drills
• Demonstrated commitment to prioritizing health and safety
• Excellent written and communication skills
• Physical prowess: If lifting 50+ pounds is your warm-up, you're the one we want.
• Experienced in fibre optic installation.
• Knowledgeable about ground disturbance procedures
• Current safety tickets including CSTS 2020, First Aid, Ground Disturbance and WHMIS 2015 are considered an asset. Additional compulsory company safety course will be provided prior to work start

HDD DRILLEr | Full time
Wage: $28.00-$42.00 per hour based on experience and 3 month probationary period

• Operate horizontal directional drilling equipment safely and efficiently to install underground conduit and utilities.
• Coordinate with the Locator to determine precise bore paths and avoid underground conflicts.
• Plan and execute bore shots with a clear understanding of site conditions, utility locates, and project requirements.
• Maintain continuous communication with the Locator and crew to ensure accurate alignment and depth throughout the drilling process.
• Interpret and follow utility locates, permits, blueprints, and work orders with a high degree of accuracy.
• Conduct thorough pre- and post-trip inspections of drilling equipment and support vehicles, reporting and addressing any deficiencies.
• Ensure all work is completed in compliance with company safety standards, industry regulations, and environmental guidelines.
• Complete all required paperwork, including daily reports, time logs, and maintenance records.
• Protect underground infrastructure and prioritize public safety during all phases of drilling operations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support overall project execution and team efficiency.
Qualifications:
• Mandatory: Minimum Class 5 driver’s license and 2+ years of HDD drilling experience
• Class 3 with Air Brakes or Class 1 required for full scope of work
• Class 1 drivers will be prioritized and offered top-end wages
• Ability to travel out of town during the week or on weekends
• Experience with Vermeer Drills
• Hands-on experience with fibre optic installation and underground utility construction.

• Read and interpret utility locates, permits, blueprints, and work orders to execute work accurately and safely.
• Work closely with the crew, including Locators and Drillers, to maintain awareness of utility locations and site conditions.
• Perform routine equipment checks and thorough pre- and post-operation inspections, reporting any mechanical issues or safety concerns promptly.
• Adhere to all safety protocols, company procedures, and regulatory requirements to minimize risk and ensure a safe work environment.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records, including equipment usage logs, inspection forms, and daily reports.
• Ensure proper backfilling and site restoration following excavation activities, prioritizing public safety and environmental responsibility.
• Support job site efficiency by assisting with material handling, site cleanup, and other duties as needed.
• Adapt to changing site conditions and job requirements while maintaining professionalism and productivity.
Qualifications:

• Perform daylighting, trenching support, debris removal, and slot trenching in accordance with project requirements
• Locate and expose buried infrastructure using non-destructive excavation methods
• Work closely with Locators, Drillers, and crew members to ensure safe and accurate excavation around utilities
• Conduct routine equipment checks and thorough pre- and post-operation inspections, reporting any mechanical issues or safety concerns promptly
• Maintain proper water pressure and vacuum settings to ensure safe and efficient operation
• Adhere to all safety protocols, company procedures, and regulatory requirements to minimize risk and ensure a safe work environment
• Maintain detailed and accurate records, including equipment logs, inspection forms, and daily reports
• Ensure safe disposal of slurry and debris in accordance with environmental regulations
• Support overall job site efficiency by assisting with labour tasks, material handling, and site cleanup as required
• Adapt to changing site conditions and job requirements while maintaining professionalism and productivity
Qualifications:
• Mandatory: Min. Class 3 driver’s license with Air Brakes (Class 1 considered a strong asset and prioritized)
• Ability to travel out of town during the week or on weekends
• Proven experience operating a hydrovac truck or similar equipment in a construction or utility setting (2+ years preferred)

• Lead and supervise a small crew on underground utility and fibre installation projects
• Act as a working foreman—actively participating in field work while coordinating daily tasks
• Plan and organize daily job site activities to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule
• Coordinate with crew members, Locators, Drillers, and operators to maintain workflow and productivity
• Read and interpret utility locates, permits, drawings, and work orders to guide crew execution
• Conduct daily hazard assessments, toolbox talks, and ensure all safety procedures are followed
• Monitor work quality and ensure all installations meet company standards and project specifications
• Complete and submit daily reports, timesheets, and safety documentation accurately
• Communicate effectively with management regarding progress, challenges, and site conditions
• Ensure proper use, care, and basic maintenance of equipment and tools
• Support site setup, cleanup, and overall crew accountability
• Adapt to changing site conditions and project needs while maintaining leadership and professionalism
Qualifications:
• Mandatory: Min. Class 5 driver’s license
• Ability to travel out of town during the week or on weekends
• Proven experience in underground utility or civil construction (3+ years preferred)
• Previous experience leading a crew or acting in a foreman/supervisory role

• Ability to read and interpret utility locates, construction drawings, and work orders accurately
• Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to manage a small crew effectively
